New Delhi / Kolkata, 1st September 2026— Bharatiya Krishak Samaj has appointed Smt. Rinku Majumder Ghosh as Adhyaksha Mahila Mandali of Bharatiya Krishak Samaj, West Bengal, placing her at the head of the organisation's women's wing in the state. The appointment letter was handed over in New Delhi today by Shri Krishan Bir Chaudhary, National President of Bharatiya Krishak Samaj.

Under State President Mahacharya Sourabh J. Sarkar, BKS West Bengal is being built as a presence on the ground rather than an office in Kolkata. The state unit's direction is to reach every district, every block and every booth in West Bengal — so that a cultivator, a sharecropper, a farm worker or a rural entrepreneur has someone from the organisation within walking distance.
The Adhyaksha Mahila Mandali's mandate sits at the centre of that plan: to build an active, empowered network of women farmers, women-led self-help groups and women agri-entrepreneurs across every block and gram panchayat of the state.
Alongside organisation-building, BKS West Bengal is working with KarmYog for the 21st Century to put artificial intelligence and agentic AI tools directly in farmers' hands — hyper-local crop advisory in Bengali, precision farming guidance, weather-resilience analytics and direct-to-market intelligence, built for smallholders and women-led collectives rather than for large estates.
BKS West Bengal announced the launch of the Jai Kisan Bengal Ratna championship, premiering during Durga Puja 2026 under the theme Protyaborton — Return to the Soil.

Shri Krishan Bir Chaudhary commended the West Bengal leadership, noting that grassroots advocacy, women's leadership and practical technology together can place Bengal at the front of India's agricultural transformation.
Shri Arun Mukherjee underlined the need to protect farmer welfare while equipping cultivators with modern tools for economic self-reliance.
Accepting the appointment, Smt. Rinku Majumder Ghosh thanked the national and state leadership and pledged to build a women farmers' network that is present, accountable and active in every block of West Bengal.
Smt. Rinku Majumder Ghosh is a self-made entrepreneur and a grassroots organiser from West Bengal. She built and has run her own event management business since the age of eighteen, having overcome considerable early-life adversity.
She has been active in public organisational work since 2013, holding leadership responsibilities across women's, OBC and handloom fronts in the state. She is known for clarity, conviction and organisational discipline — and for the emotional strength that carried her through building an enterprise from nothing.
Bharatiya Krishak Samaj is India's apex non-partisan farmers' organisation, working for farmer dignity, fair agricultural policy, growth in farm incomes, natural agriculture, seed sovereignty and the strengthening of grassroots farmer institutions. Its West Bengal chapter extends this mission to one of India's most agriculturally significant states, home to millions of small and marginal farmers, sharecroppers and rural entrepreneurs.
Shri Krishan Bir Chaudhary, National President of Bharatiya Krishak Samaj, has been associated with Indian agriculture and the farmers' movement for decades. He has held important roles connected with agricultural policy, farmer representation, agri-business, cooperatives and Minimum Support Price advocacy. Under his leadership, BKS has consistently pressed for policies that place farmer income, dignity and self-reliance at the centre of India's agricultural agenda.
